Biography

Grady Paden, MD FAAHPM FACP is a Fellow of the American Academy of Hospice & Palliative Medicine, as well as the American College of Physicians. He is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Washington School of Medicine and attending physician in Palliative Care and Medicine at the VA Puget Sound Health Care System in Seattle. He provides palliative care consultation for patients and families, as well as Internal Medicine and Geriatrics care to patients in the outpatient and inpatient settings. As a VitalTalk faculty member he teaches serious illness communication skills to clinicians in health care institutions across the US. Other professional interests include medical ethics, and interdisciplinary team function. Originally from Alaska, and still with strong ties to the largest state, Grady enjoys skiing and mountaineering. Other interests include music, swimming, and time with family and friends.
