Yes, limited scholarship funds are available to those who have been accepted into the program and are due July 15th (a separate link to the Scholarship application will be sent upon request).

Can in-State tuition be Utilized?

No, unfortunately not. Because the program is fee-based, any state-based tuition exemption or reimbursement program is not eligible.

What is the format of the curriculum? (online or in-Person or Hybrid?)

The curriculum is 100% online including the workshops scheduled each quarter. Time is the 2-4 hrs week, designed for busy working professionals. Most of the work is self-paced, online weekly assignments that require 2-4 hours a week. The assignment deadlines are flexible in recognition of working professionals’ busy lives; as long as the work is done by the end of the quarter, you receive credit for the assignments. Applied, skills-based teaching (vs theory, lots of readings). Learn it today, apply it tomorrow in the clinic.

Workshops scheduled each quarter require attendance. Each workshop is scheduled from Thursday through Saturday. Please see dates here: Workshops & Program Topics | Palliative Care Training Center

Is there an enrollment Cap?

No, there is no cap on our enrollment. Our average cohort size is around 45 students each year.

What Career Paths have alumni who have completed teh program taken?

Many program graduates pursue a variety of career paths after completion. For example, some alumni of the PMHNP programs have expanded their credentials by completing the palliative care certificate, enabling them to become nurse practitioners specializing in palliative care.

How long is the program?

The program is 9 months, taught over 3 academic quarters, with each quarter focusing on a key area of palliative care practice: person-centered communication, interprofessional team training, and program development/systems integration. The program is non-competitive, so if you are a clinician who works with seriously ill patients in any setting, you’ll be accepted.
