Biography
I am a Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland and a proud 2020 graduate of the University of Washington Palliative Care Training Center (UW PCTC). I am passionate about palliative care because it is a multidisciplinary, team-oriented specialty that truly focuses on who the patient is as an individual, what matters to them, and how to align medical/psychosocial/spiritual care with their wishes. In palliative care consults, I most enjoy getting to know individuals personal and medical journeys and learn their values to support them in making medical decisions. I firmly believe in the individual and system-level positive outcomes, personalized care, and more cohesive teamwork that arise from quality palliative care. I am grateful to be able to teach others about this specialty as part of the UW PCTC teaching team as well as in my professional NP role and as trained VitalTalk faculty.
